Service Description

Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga Mysore style is the traditional way of practicing Ashtanga Yoga — a vigorous, breath-centered practice with a set sequence of postures that has its roots in Mysore, India. In this format, students practice at their own pace with individualized guidance from the instructor. Rather than being led through the sequence together as a group, students are expected to gradually memorize the practice and remember what they have learned from class to class. When you arrive, you begin your practice independently, moving through the sequence you have been given. The instructor provides one-on-one support, teaches new postures when appropriate, and offers hands-on adjustments to help refine alignment, build strength, increase endurance, and support flexibility. Mysore style allows the sequence to be taught progressively and safely, meeting each student exactly where they are. This approach creates a deeply personal and sustainable practice. Students may arrive anytime between 7:30–8:30 AM, depending on how long they wish to practice. Upon arrival, please check in with Jamie, then begin your practice.
