Intro to Mysore Style Yoga: A 1.5-Hour Workshop Curious about Mysore style but not sure what to expect? This 1.5-hour introductory workshop is designed to demystify the Mysore method and help you feel confident stepping into a self-paced practice. Mysore style is the traditional way of practicing Ashtanga yoga. Rather than moving together through a led class, students practice the sequence at their own pace with individualized guidance from the instructor. You’ll learn how this format allows you to build a sustainable, personalized practice — gradually increasing strength, endurance, flexibility, and focus over time. During this workshop, we will: Break down how a Mysore class works Explain the structure of the Ashtanga sequence Discuss expectations (including how students learn and remember the practice from class to class) Explore the role of individualized instruction and hands-on adjustments Practice key foundational postures together Review how to enter and exit a Mysore room with confidence This workshop is perfect for: Students new to Ashtanga yoga Practitioners curious about Mysore style Anyone wanting to deepen consistency and autonomy in their practice Come ready to move, ask questions, and gain clarity about this powerful and transformative method of practice.
